Exclusive Video Interview With The Cast And Producers Of Son Of God

The story of Jesus Christ is perhaps one of the most interesting stories in history, yet not many films decide to tackle the topic. As producer/co-star Roma Downey told us, it's been 10 years since Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ. That's part of the reason why Downey and fellow producer Mark Burnett decided to bring this beautiful tale to the big screen once more in Son of God, an upcoming biblical epic from 20th Century Fox.

The story of Jesus Christ is perhaps one of the most interesting stories in history, yet not many films decide to tackle the topic. As producer/co-star Roma Downey told us, it’s been 10 years since Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ. That’s part of the reason why Downey and fellow producer Mark Burnett decided to bring this beautiful tale to the big screen once more in Son of God, an upcoming biblical epic from 20th Century Fox.

If Downey and Burnett’s names sound familiar, it’s because the duo previously gave us The Bible, a miniseries that aired back in March 2013 on the History channel. Son of God will be adapted from The Bible and feature certain selections of the 10-part miniseries as well as deleted scenes that didn’t make it into the final cut.

Recently, we attended the Son of God press day in Los Angeles and while there we had the privilege of speaking with Downey, Burnett and Diogo Morgado, who plays the titular protagonist. They discussed their decision to turn The Bible into a feature film, why Morgado was the right man for the job, how excited they were when 20th Century Fox picked up the project and more.

Check it out below and be sure to catch Son of God when it hits theatres this Friday!
