Asked about the pressures which come with bringing to life the sort of places the Avengers: Infinity War script revolves around, Charles Wood explained that the movie is going to end up taking both us and the characters (presumably members of The Avengers) to, “many, many, many new worlds.”

“Any time you turn that page on this script, you’re kind of staggered, blown away, terrified by what’s in front of you. I think rather like Doctor Strange, you’ll find this film, it’s not regurgatative, yeah? What I’m trying to say, is, there are many, many, many new worlds to see in this film.”

Thanos making his presence felt on Earth at some point makes a lot of sense, but so too does Earth’s Mightiest Heroes paying a visit to some other worlds and realms. After all, the vast majority of The Infinity Gauntlet comic book took place in a world created by Thanos, so that coming into play at some point would be a unique and interesting way to pay homage to the source material.

Like Captain America: Civil War, though, there’s no way of knowing how closely to the comic books Avengers: Infinity War will be sticking. Regardless, seeing members of The Avengers (and Guardians of the Galaxy) taking the fight to Thanos in space will be downright epic in a movie which is so far, shaping up to be the biggest superhero release of all-time.
