Expect To See More Iconic Actors Showing Up In Future Marvel Movies

Marvel's no stranger to excellent casting choices. Across the board, they've been able to pull in top-tier talent and are always able to find the right man or woman for the job. Not only that, but they've also plucked a number of lesser known actors out of the woods and given them their big breaks, turning them into stars overnight. James Gunn's upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will continue this trend of rock solid casting, bringing with it two exciting new additions.

Marvel‘s no stranger to excellent casting choices. Across the board, they’ve been able to pull in top-tier talent and are always able to find the right man or woman for the job. Not only that, but they’ve also plucked a number of lesser known actors out of the woods and given them their big breaks, turning them into stars overnight. James Gunn’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will continue this trend of rock solid casting, bringing with it two exciting new additions.

The first is Kurt Russell, who’s set to play Ego the Living Planet, while the other one is Sylvester Stallone, who’s reportedly set to bring Starhawk to life. They’ll join a long list of iconic actors who’ve worked with Marvel (Anthony Hopkins, Ben Kingsley, Robert Redford, etc.) and according to Kevin Feige, that list will only continue to grow longer as the studio plans to continue to cast acting legends in their films going forward.

Talking to Fandango recently to promote Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Feige was asked if we can expect to see more Hollywood veterans show up in the MCU, to which he replied:

There are a few that are coming up, actually. I’ll keep this spoiler-free, but be assured that there are more surprises of that caliber heading into our universe in the next few films.

While the casts for movies like Thor: Ragnarok and Spider-Man: Homecoming have already been revealed, there’s nothing to suggest that Marvel hasn’t held back a few surprises. Feige could be referring to projects like Avengers: Infinity War or Black Panther, as well, but we wouldn’t be too shocked if we saw an acting legend or two show up in some of their movies that are more imminent.
