The Expendables 3 Adds Wesley Snipes, Hopefully With A Side Of Mel Gibson

Sylvester Stallone has announced his joy at snagging Wesley Snipes for a part in The Expendables 3 on Twitter, stating that "Wesley Snipes joined the crew tonight and that makes me damn happy. Hope Snipes brings his A-Game." He later deleted this Tweet, perhaps worried about the possibility of Wesley Snipes not bringing his A-Game and the accusations of being a disgusting liar that would inevitably follow.

Sylvester Stallone has announced his joy at snagging Wesley Snipes for a part in The Expendables 3 on Twitter, stating that “Wesley Snipes joined the crew tonight and that makes me damn happy.  Hope Snipes brings his A-Game.” He later deleted this Tweet, perhaps worried about the possibility of Wesley Snipes not bringing his A-Game and the accusations of being a disgusting liar that would inevitably follow.

A later tweet clarified his position – “Wesley Snipes is BACK!!!! … …with US!!!” Wesley Snipes has had his fair share of legal trouble recently, so he’ll no doubt be glad that someone like Sylvester Stallone has his back and is casting that back, along with the rest of his body, in such a high profile feature.

What started as little more than a wet dream for 80’s action fans has now become a bonafide franchise in its own right, fulfilling the ultimate destiny of the film. Sylvester Stallone went on to suggest People Magazine’s Sexiest Man of the Year 1985 Mel Gibson as a potential director, taking to Twitter yet again with the childish glee and optimism that we’ve come to associate with the man over his body of work – “Mel is a MAGNIFICENT director! Pure passion on every level. We’d be blessed to have him. A REAL long shot, but LIFE is a long shot -right?”

Sylvester Stallone knows long shots better than most, having played both John Rambo (Rambo) and Sgt. Joe Bomowski (Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot). For all his political and racist madness, the inclusion of Mel Gibson makes sense – he’s in the upcoming Machete Kills, and gave a great turn in Get The Gringo – but the question remains: which big 80’s star will join the film next? Jackie Chan is rumoured, but unconfirmed. The addition of Jackie Chan plus Wesley Snipes would, however, make The Expendables 3 a dream come true for Mel Gibson, for it would provide a United Nations of different races for him to (allegedly) take issue against.

What do you think of Snipes joining the film? Happy to see him included in the cast? Let us know.
