“Hang on for one last ride,” announces the second trailer for the upcoming threequel The Expendables 3. With an absolutely huge cast of some of the biggest action stars in the world, this latest instalment is set to be the most explosive entry into the franchise, which unfortunately looks to be coming to an end with this film.
The Expendables 3 will follow Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) and the rest of the buff crew as they go head-to-head with the group’s co-founder, Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson). With plans to destroy the Expendables, Ross must hire a “new and younger generation…to help the team overcome his old adversary.”
The latest in the series will star returning cast members Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham and Jet Li, as well as an additional entourage of movie and TV icons, including Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Kelsey Grammer and Mel Gibson. New blood joining the Expendables team will be Kellen Lutz, Ronda Roussey, Victor Oritz and Randy Couture.
With its high-octane action and impressive cast, The Expendables 3 could very well dwarf its predecessors. The trailer contains an array of explosions, witty one-liners, large guns and buff biceps….pretty much everything we’ve come to expect from the series. It doesn’t look like anything new, but when it comes to these particular films, it doesn’t have to be. Audiences eat this stuff up and even if The Expendables 3 is a carbon copy of the last two, which it looks to be, I’m sure that it will still do huge numbers at the box office.
