The announcement was made during this year’s CinemaCon when the film’s lead Vin Diesel appeared on stage with the rest of the cast and shared the news. According to Collider, Diesel gave his thanks to the fans and commented on how the film lasted for more than two decades and was proud to know that this film franchise managed to have the same cast playing the same characters throughout the years.

“Fast is now the longest running franchise in movie history featuring the same actors playing the same characters. Thank you for making us, adopting us as a world saga, and we hope to make you proud.”

The Fast & Furious film franchise started in 2001 with The Fast and the Furious. It soon expanded with multiple film installments, a spin-off film starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, a Netflix series, and a handful of short films. After years of telling Dominic Toretto’s story, it was confirmed that the epic finale of the main Fast & Furious story will race its way to theaters in 2025.

Fast X and its upcoming sequel are said to end the main Fast Saga. Part One will have the main cast reprising their roles. Joining this two-parter is Jason Momoa as the film’s antagonist named Dante, Rita Moreno as Abuela Torretto, and Brie Larson as Tess. While part two is years away, Faxt X will race its way to theaters on May 19, 2023.
