THR is reporting that Autobahn has rounded out its cast with Felicity Jones, Anthony Hopkins and Ben Kingsley. Directed by Welcome to the Punch helmer Eran Creevy, the film will follow Jones and Hoult as a young American couple who “are plunged into a game of cat and mouse across Germany after they find themselves caught between two ruthless criminals (Hopkins and Kingsley)”

Hoult has been attached to the project since last year, but Hopkins, Kingsley and Jones are new, and most definitely welcome additions. Together, the four of them make a pretty impressive cast, and with the film being described by producer Joel Silver as a “gritty, adrenaline-fueled thrill ride through Europe,” there’s ample reasons to be excited for this one.

While I don’t think that Welcome to the Punch was a great film by any means, I do think that it showed promise from its relatively new director and I’m definitely excited to see what Creevy can do here. If he can avoid genre cliches and give us a refreshing take on what sounds like a familiar premise, then Autobahn could turn out to be a perfectly enjoyable thriller. After all, it would be hard to go wrong with that cast.

Production on Autobahn will get underway in Germany on May 5th. As always, we’ll keep you posted when we hear more.
