Filming On Fantastic Beasts 3 Delayed Because It’s “Bigger Than The First Two Movies Combined”

The so-far untitled Fantastic Beasts 3 is seemingly bigger than the first two movies combined. Or so says Jacob Kowalski himself, Dan Fogler.

Even if you’ve seen Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them with your own two eyes, and endured its admittedly overstuffed sequel, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Or so says Jacob Kowalski himself, Dan Fogler.

The actor spoke to HeyUGuys earlier this week about the impending return of AMC’s The Walking Dead, though when the conversation inevitably veered towards Warner’s Wizarding World, Fogler confirmed that filming on Fantastic Beasts 3 has been delayed simply because the threequel itself is “bigger than the first two movies combined.”

David Yates, J.K. Rowling and the other members of Warner’s creative team have been pretty tight-lipped about Fantastic Beasts 3 – and for good reason, as there’s still another two installments to come after the Powers That Be have delivered their follow-up to The Crimes of Grindelwald.

But in the eyes of Fogler, it’ll be worth the wait. And then some.

Yeah, we start in the Fall. The movie is going to be gigantic! The reason we were given is that the movie is bigger than the first two combined. They needed more time to prep and they didn’t want to rush anything so they pushed it back.

If Fantastic Beasts 3 needs a little more time in the oven, then more time it shall have. Truth be told, The Crimes of Grindelwald undershot expectations – critically, if not financially – so it’s no surprise that Warner Bros. is willing to pump the brakes on its rapidly expanding franchise, lest it run out of gas before the mid-way point.

So while the third Fantastic Beasts movie was originally targeting November 2020, it looks certain that WB will hold fire on its magical threequel until the following year. And really, that’s no bad thing. More on this story as it develops.
