It’s hard to believe, but we’re only about two months away now from the release of Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Yet, despite already seeing a healthy amount of footage from the film, we’re still fairly in the dark in regards to what we should expect from it.

We’ve heard that it will be a more “realistic and different Star Wars movie” than what we’re used to seeing, and also that it’ll have a grittier and more mature tone than The Force Awakens, which was one of the reasons for all those reshoots last spring. In fact, rumor has it that Disney even went so far as to heavily water down a few scenes with Darth Vader. That, combined with news of a new director being brought in for the reshoots has cast a dark shadow over the film, one it’s had a hard time escaping ever since.

Hopefully, that’ll all change for Rogue One once its final trailer is released, which will be with Doctor Strange, which arrives on November 4th. Will we see it online a bit earlier? Possibly, but for now all we can confirm is that it’ll be in theatres this November alongside Marvel’s new movie.

Unfortunately, we’ve got no details on what the trailer will show, or how much of the plot it will reveal, but given that it’s the final chance for Disney to put Rogue One in our good graces, you can bet that it’ll be a worthwhile preview for what right now appears to be a very divisive film. The studio’s already admitted that it doesn’t expect the movie to match The Force Awakens‘ box office numbers, and we don’t either, but just where will it end up in terms of its worldwide gross once all is said and done?

That remains to be seen, of course, but for now, we can all look forward to a new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer this November, before its release on December 16th.
