First Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Photo Features An Adorable Baby Groot

So far, we've seen quite a bit from James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Some concept art and a poster kicked off Marvel's marketing campaign initially, and in the months since we've had two excellent trailers. However, we still haven't had any official photos from the film, which is a bit surprising. That all changes today though as the studio has dropped a brand new image featuring Baby Groot, and it just may melt your heart.

So far, we’ve seen quite a bit from James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Some concept art and a poster kicked off Marvel’s marketing campaign initially, and in the months since we’ve had two excellent trailers. However, we still haven’t received any official photos from the film, which is a bit surprising. That all changes today though as the studio has dropped a brand new image featuring Baby Groot, and it just may melt your heart.

We weren’t given any context surrounding the photo, so it’s hard to say why the little guy looks so worried here, but it’s a great shot of what will no doubt become the most popular character in the upcoming sequel. After all, Baby Groot stole the show in that most recent trailer and with rumors that him and Rocket may be even getting their own spinoff at some point in the future, it’s clear that Marvel has big plans for him.

With two trailers now out in the wild for Gunn’s highly anticipated sequel, I’d expect the marketing machine for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 to slow down as we head into the new year. Especially since the studio has just released the first footage from Spider-Man: Homecoming and probably wants to keep the focus on that for now. Fear not, though, as Star-Lord and crew will be back in the spotlight before you know it and given what we’ve seen from the film so far, the wait should be well worth it.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 blasts into theatres on May 5th, 2017 and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Kurt Russell.
