First Star Trek Beyond Reactions Are Very Positive

Last night in LA, a handful of lucky critics got to attend the junket screening for Star Trek Beyond, and while full reviews are still under embargo, a handful of reactions are starting to pour out over social media. For the most part, it seems like everyone enjoyed the film, with the general consensus being that while it’s not perfect, it’s still a ton of fun.

You could argue that of course these critics will be praising Justin Lin’s entry into the franchise, as if you’re going to be attending the junket for a movie, it wouldn’t be in good taste to bash it over Twitter. And while that is somewhat true, we tend to trust a lot of these people who’ve Tweeted and it’s certainly exciting to see their enthusiasm for the new Star Trek.

There seems to be a lot of praise going towards the film’s action here, which is no surprise given Lin’s experience in the Fast & Furious franchise, and almost everyone agrees that it’s an absolute blast from start to finish, with the popular opinion being that it’s way better than Into Darkness. Overall, the reactions are tremendously positive and we can’t wait to see the film for ourselves when it arrives next week.

Star Trek Beyond zooms into theatres on July 22nd and for an idea of what to expect, you can check out all of the Tweets below.
