With Us less than three months away from arriving in theaters now, the highly anticipated sophomore outing from Get Out helmsman Jordan Peele has been shrouded in mystery for most of the year, but finally, that’s about to change.

Universal has released the first trailer today and though it doesn’t tell us a whole lot about the film, it at least gives us a few pieces of what’s shaping up to be a very, very intriguing puzzle. Terrifying, unsettling and full of evocative imagery, this is one of the most enticing previews we’ve seen in a long, long time and should certainly get moviegoers hyped for what looks to be a worthy follow-up to Get Out.

So far, we know that Lupita Nyong’o stars in Us as Adelaide Wilson, which she describes as “this relentless nightmare that taps into [Adelaide’s] deepest fears and ours as well — the idea that we might be our own worst enemies.” As the preview shows us, Nyong’o’s character and her husband Gabe (Winston Duke) will be taking a holiday with the kids at her childhood beachside home. But while there, Adelaide notices four figures standing silently at the bottom of her driveway one night, who just so happen to be nightmarish and twisted doppelgängers of her own family. From there, the terror ensues.

Speaking about the film a while back, here’s what Peele had to say:

It has been a labor of love. It is a horror film. I dedicated a lot of myself to create a new horror mythology, and a new monster. I think that monsters and stories about monsters are one of our best ways of getting at deeper truths and facing our fears as a society.

Us creeps into theaters on March 15th, 2019, and it may very well turn out to be one of the year’s best horror movies.
