With most Marvel fans turning their attention towards Spider-Man: Far From Home, it’s clear that the buzz surrounding Avengers: Endgame has died down in the past few weeks. In fact, if it wasn’t for the upcoming re-release, it’s safe to say its ongoing box office run would be dead in the water, especially since it’ll land on digital streaming platforms and retail store shelves in the coming months.
Still, it seems Disney and Marvel haven’t entirely called it quits on their biggest release to date. As we previously reported, Endgame is heading back to theaters with deleted footage, and some are speculating that the new post-credits scene will focus on the Hulk. Despite all the rumors, the fact of the matter is no one knows for sure what the new cut contains, though a recent press release does shed a bit of light on the matter.
As ScreenRant reports, Marvel has stated that the new footage from the “Bring Back” event will include an “unfinished deleted scene,” along with a teaser for Spider-Man: Far From Home (which is due out in a week), and a message courtesy of Endgame co-director Anthony Russo.
Focusing on the term “unfinished,” there’s a good chance the newly-included clip will not have gone through the same lengthy post-production process that the rest of the film has. With hundreds of hours of footage shot on camera, there’s no telling what’s in store for audiences, but we’re betting it won’t feature a ton of CGI or other special effects.
We’re still a little unsure as to whether or not this new cut of Avengers: Endgame will be worth the price of admission, but with the re-release only days away, it seems we’ll find out soon enough. As always, be sure to check this space for all the latest news and updates, especially if you don’t want to head out to the theater for a second time to catch a few minutes of new footage.
