Star Wars fanboys got some news today to whet their appetite for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII as two actors appear to be auditioning for roles in the film. It was reported that both Alex Pettyfer and Rachel Hurd-Wood will be jousting for parts, though neither have been officially cast yet.

Pettyfer, who starred in Magic Mike and I Am Number Four, is auditioning for an unknown role, though it has been speculated that he is trying out for the role of Luke Skywalker’s son. Rachel Hurd-Wood, a lesser-known actress who played Wendy Darling in 2003’s Peter Pan, has also auditioned, reportedly for the role of the daughter of Princess Leia.

Though we have been treated to a bit of news regarding the possible return of characters such as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker, little has been released regarding new characters or who may play them, until now. Again though, this is just a rumor and until we have official confirmation from the studio, it will remain as that.

What do you think about this news? Would you enjoy seeing these actors take over for the franchise? Let us know in the comments section.

Star Wars: Episode VII is due out during the summer of 2015. We’ll keep you posted when we hear more.
