Serving as something of a recap, we see the beginning of the outbreak that led to Raccoon City – and indeed the world – transforming into a monster-ridden wasteland. There’s talk of truth, and there’s talk of revenge – and then there is lots and lots of action set to the striking tones of Guns N’ Roses’ Paradise City. To sum it up, what we have here is a fast-paced franchise instalment in which destiny comes full circle, and chickens come home to roost.

There are some familiar faces, and some familiar locales, but this is really about Alice and her showdown with the big villain of the piece. She’s returning to Raccoon City to bring the whole thing to an end – or at least, that is her stated intention.

Whether or not the film actually is the franchise closer remains to be seen, but either way, we’re excited for another thrilling outing from director Paul W.S. Anderson when Resident Evil: The Final Chapter lands in theatres on January 27th, 2017.
