Gal Gadot Wants Halle Berry To Play Wonder Woman’s Love Interest

For those of you who are into comic books, you're probably well aware of the fact that Wonder Woman is believed to have had same-sex relationships during her time on the island of Themyscira. It's never been explicitly stated in the source material, but the current scribe for the character, Greg Rucka, has made comments about it recently - and he's not the first writer to do so.

For those of you who are into comic books, you’re probably well aware of the fact that Wonder Woman is believed to have had same-sex relationships during her time on the island of Themyscira. It’s never been explicitly stated in the source material, but the current scribe for the character, Greg Rucka, has made some interesting comments about it recently – and he’s not the first writer to do so.

When the hero finally made her big screen debut in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, none of this was touched upon for obvious reasons. However, now that Wonder Woman finally has her own film coming out, could we see this side of the character explored a little more? According to Gal Gadot, it doesn’t seem like Patty Jenkins’ upcoming movie will tackle Diana’s sexuality, but it’s still something that could be brought to light in future sequels.

In a recent interview with an Israeli outlet (translated by Batman-News), the subject of a possible lesbian relationship for Wonder Woman was again brought up and Gadot stated that she’d not only be on board for it, but that she already has someone in mind to play the love interest: Halle Berry.

“I saw her the other day, Halle Berry. She’s so beautiful. Wow! She’s gorgeous! So… yeah, I could do it with her,” Gadot said.

While we’d certainly be behind the idea of Halle Berry playing a love interest for the titular hero in a future DC film, it’s important to take all of this with a grain of salt. There have been absolutely no plans made yet for a Wonder Woman sequel and though we don’t doubt that we’ll one day see one, it’s going to be years and years before it even starts being developed.

After all, the studio needs to get through their current slate of films before they can even begin thinking about a Wonder Woman 2. Still, with the increased interest in Diana’s sexuality and Gal Gadot eager to explore it in future outings, don’t be surprised if it does eventually factor into the DCEU at some point.
