Diana Prince herself, Gal Gadot took to Facebook earlier today to confirm that she’s now officially wrapped on the set of Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman movie.
Exactly how much filming is still to be done on Warner Bros.’ standalone flick is up for question, which is currently lensing in Italy, though considering that the leading star has now completed all of her scenes – providing there aren’t any last-minute reshoots – leads us to believe that it won’t be too long before Jenkins’ movie is bound for post-production.
It has been a shoot that spanned all across the globe, too, with England playing host to the wartime sequences before the crew uprooted to the mystical beaches of Themyscira circa World War I, where Diana Prince is housed up with her fellow Amazonians – Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen), General Antiope (Robin Wright) and Menalippe (Lisa Loven Kongsli).
Reflecting on the filming itself, Gadot’s Facebook post also had the actress reflect on her “amazing” experience.
“Today was my last day shooting the solo Wonder Woman movie! It’s been such an amazing, exciting, dreamy, happy and fascinating experience I will cherish it forever. Thank you to everyone who was involved, our amazing cast, crew and phenomenal director.”
As the DC Extended Universe builds toward the Justice League, Gadot’s Wonder Woman will take center stage in the summer of 2017, where she’ll be flanked by Chris Pine, Lucy Davis, Danny Huston, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya and David Thewlis.
Wonder Woman opens in theaters on June 2, 2017.
