That’s all set to change in 2015 though, with what’s sure to be a much discussed role as Sue Storm in Fantastic Four and a part in Ridley Scott’s highly-anticipated sci-fi flick The Martian. Will she prove to be just as effective an actress on the silver screen as she was on television? We certainly think so.

By the end of Fifty Shades of Grey’s theatrical run, Jamie Dornan is going to be on the mind of just about every woman in America. The 32 year-old Irish model turned actor is set to star in the aforementioned film as Christian Grey, effectively turning him into an instant sex symbol and an actor that will soon be highly sought after for his popularity with female audiences. All that aside, Dornan actually has some talent in front of the camera, as evidenced by his role on television’s The Fall. And, with several future gigs already booked, his star is looking to shine brighter than ever.

If you’ve seen Attack The Block, you’re likely already very familiar with John Boyega. However, the unfortunate fact is that not many people are even aware of that sci-fi gem. And so, the actor’s true breakout performance will undoubtedly be in this year’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, where he’ll take on a still mysterious, yet pivotal role.

I’ve been a Jai Courtney fan ever since his days on television’s Spartacus, and while his profile has risen considerably since then, I still wouldn’t say that he’s truly and really broken out into the mainstream. When this summer’s Terminator: Genisys rolls around, however, that will likely change. Taking on a lead role in one of this year’s most anticipated blockbusters should no doubt throw Courtney into the spotlight, and those of you familiar with his work will know that he’s definitely got the talent necessary to become a bankable leading man.

Another Brit actor who’s getting ready to make a big splash is Taron Edgerton. With the lead in Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming Kingsman: The Secret Service, and glowing reviews already starting to pour in, expect big things for this young actor in 2015.

As one of the funniest women in comedy, it’s a crime that Amy Schumer isn’t a household name yet. Thankfully, that will all change once Trainwreck crashes into theatres. The Judd Apatow flick was written as a star vehicle for Schumer and with the talent that’s on board to aid her, it will surely serve its purpose.

Another actor who’s about to owe much of his success to J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Domhnall Gleeson is a talented Irish actor who unfortunately, has flown too far under the radar lately. Like Boyega, his role in Star Wars is being kept under wraps, but given that he’s built a solid body of work up to this point, J.J. Abrams’ journey into a galaxy far, far away should be what allows Gleeson to finally break out.

Downton Abbey fans will surely be familiar with the talented Lily James, but it will be Disney’s update on Cinderella that will truly give her the recognition that she deserves. After all, starring in a Disney movie is usually a surefire way to gain exposure, and given that all signs point to this new take on Cinderella being a winner, we’re confident that James is going to be a hot commodity once it premieres.

Though he should have hit the big time with TRON: Legacy, that film didn’t exactly perform as planned. And so, Hedlund has been working steadily, yet somewhat under the radar for the last couple of years. However, a starring role in Joe Wright’s Pan, opposite Hugh Jackman, no less, should give him another chance to catapult himself to where he should have been years ago.

As one of the leads in Brad Bird’s hugely-anticipated Tomorrowland, Britt Robertson definitely has a lot riding on her shoulders. Starring opposite George Clooney in what is sure to be one of the year’s biggest releases, Robertson has her work cut out for her. However, if she’s able to leave a lasting impact on audiences, her name should be one that we become instantly familiar with.
