After all the drama surrounding 20th Century Fox’s Gambit movie (they finally managed to lock in Edge Of Tomorrow director Doug Liman), it was probably inevitable that it was never going to make its initial October 7, 2016 release date, and now the studio has confirmed that the Channing Tatum-lead X-Men spin-off has been pushed back while announcing release dates for two more unknown Marvel flicks.
The first is set to arrive on October 6, 2017, and the other on January 12, 2018. Now, while this hasn’t been confirmed, the 2017 movie is almost certainly Gambit, which would debut in theatres almost a year to the day from its original release date.
The second is a little harder to predict. The recently announced Deadpool sequel is a good bet, but there are also have several other mutant-related projects in the pipeline – including X-Force, and whatever Bryan Singer winds up following X-Men: Apocalypse up with.
In addition, Fox has announced that Shane Black’s new Predator movie will release on March 2, 2018, and Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant will now hit theatres on August 4, 2017.
