Now here’s an exciting project. Gary Oldman and Dominic Cooper starring in an Albert Hughes film, how good does that sound? Heat Vision is reporting that the critically acclaimed actor has joined Motor City and will be taking on the role of the villain, which isn’t too shocking.
The film, which will be “a revenge tale of a low-level criminal (one who reportedly only has a single line in the script), who is framed and sent down, only to seek revenge years later to save his one-time love,” will see Oldman playing a crime boss.
For those who are keeping score, Oldman previously worked with Hughes on The Book Of Eli where once again he played the villain. While some may be upset to see Oldman going back to his villain roots so soon after astounding audiences with his turn as George Smiley in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, I for one, welcome it.
Oldman has given us some extremely memorable villains in the past and this project is sounding real good. I thoroughly enjoyed The Book Of Eli and Cooper is one of my favorite up and coming actors.
Though this role may not give Oldman an Oscar nod like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy did, it will be a fun role for the actor to sink his teeth into and will undoubtedly entertain audiences.
