Although close to completion and readying for an early summer release, a couple of cast members are yet to be confirmed for the upcoming superhero film Green Lantern. Today it has been announced that the Oscar winning actor, Geoffrey Rush, seen most recently in his acclaimed performance in The King’s Speech will provide the voice of Tomar-Re, a scientist from the planet Xudar who then joins the Green Lantern Corps.
The character is reportedly integral to the film’s plot, I’m not a fan of the comic so not sure how he fits in although many say that this character works alongside the Green Lantern hero. The film has Ryan Reynolds in the lead with Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) directing. The film is set to open on June 17, 2011. (Deadline)
