We’re just a few months away now from seeing the MonsterVerse’s Godzilla go up against some of his meanest-looking foes to date, the biggest and meanest of them all being King Ghidorah. And thanks to this new still from USA Today, we may have our best look yet at the Godzilla: King of the Monsters villain.

While the beast’s body has been obscured by the usual combination of darkness and rain that we’ve come to associate with the Big G’s next outing, all three of Ghidorah’s heads seem raring for a fight, and our money’s not on that skinny little aircraft that’s flying in his direction.

We’ve already seen Godzilla grapple a little with the three heads in the film’s most recent trailer, but you can bet there’s a lot more footage where that came from. While 2014’s Godzilla proved divisive in its surprisingly restrained approach to filming its beasts, director Michael Dougherty assured fans last month that there’s “no holding back” in his movie once the monsters start trading blows.

Speaking of which, Ghidorah won’t be the only classic kaiju creature to enter the fray in the upcoming flick, with Rodan and Mothra each making their MonsterVerse debuts in Dougherty’s film. And because Legendary Pictures knows what its audience wants, these three giants have hogged the spotlight for the feature’s promotional run, along with Godzilla himself, of course.

Still, the movie also boasts a noteworthy human cast which includes the likes of Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga and Millie Bobby Brown, and since several of these actor will be sticking around for 2020’s Godzilla vs. Kong, here’s hoping it won’t just be the monsters who make an impression when Godzilla: King of the Monsters hits theaters on May 31st, 2019.
