The Super Bowl isn’t just about football. True, for many people it is, but it’s also a pretty big deal for movie buffs, as studios roll out their biggest and best in front of an absolutely massive audience, showing off their upcoming blockbusters and vying for your attention, and money. This year is no different, as we’ve seen one trailer after another, all teasing some truly spectacular looking films.
As expected, Disney had a fairly big presence during the game and much to the surprise of no one, they decided to give us more of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Not that the sequel really needs anymore promotion, mind you. It’s already right at the top of everyone’s most anticipated list when it comes to movies arriving in 2017. But still, the House of Mouse took the chance to show off what’s no doubt going to be an absolute juggernaut for them, and the trailer they dropped did not disappoint in the slightest.
Following up on the excellent preview we got in December, this one once again brings us more of Star-Lord, Drax, Rocket and, of course, Baby Groot, among others. All your favorites are back in this humorous, action-packed and beyond exciting look at what’s sure to be one of this year’s best. It’s rare for a sequel to actually surpass the original, but we wouldn’t be surprised if James Gunn’s upcoming film does just that.
Truth be told, it looks like an absolute blast and once you give this new promo a watch, we’re sure you’ll agree with us. It may not tell us very much about the plot or reveal any juicy character details, but it does exactly what a Super Bowl spot is supposed to do: get you hyped.
