After kicking off a 90-day shoot back in February, principal photography on James Gunn’s space opera sequel Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is now complete. Throughout the whole Atlanta production Gunn has made it a point to involve fans, teasing casting confirmations and such through his various social media channels. And to mark leading man Chris Pratt’s final day on set, he continued that popular trend by live streaming the moment on Facebook:

“We, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, are coming to San Diego Comic-Con this year,” Gunn reveals in the above clip, confirming that “a bunch of the gang,” including both he and Pratt will be in attendance. So what exactly can fans expect to see from the highly-anticipated sequel at the event? Gunn simply teased the following:

“We’re gonna show you guys something pretty cool.”

The highly-anticipated sequel to one of Marvel’s most unexpected hits is gathering plenty of excitement already – and it’s still a year from release. Upping the ante from the 2012 original by enlisting a new batch of supporting characters, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is looking like the sequel to beat next summer.

Alongside Pratt’s Star-Lord, there’s the headlining bunch that includes Zoe Saldana’s Gamora, Dave Bautista’s Drax, Bradley Cooper’s Rocket, and Vin Diesel’s Groot. Newcomers to the comedy hijinks include Pom Klementieff, Tommy Flanagan and Kurt Russell, who may or may not be playing Star-Lord’s father.

Get prepared for another wild and humorous ride across the far reaches of space, when Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 arrives in theaters on May 5, 2017.
