But who could play him? Fan artist Boss Logic has suggested a couple of possible castings himself, with his artwork depicting Zac Efron and Game of Thrones‘ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Adam. BL’s latest piece though imagines Alexander Skarsgard as the character. In contrast to the previous images which dressed the actors in Adam’s distinctive costume, this version portrays Skarsgard emerging from Adam’s cocoon.

See for yourself in the gallery below:

For those who don’t recall, the MCU iteration of the character was set up as a creation of Sovereign queen Ayesha at the end of Guardians Vol. 2. After her humiliating defeat at the hands of Star-Lord and his crew, the snooty monarch of the genetically-engineered race sought to bring to life the perfect person to destroy the Guardians. “I think I’ll call him… Adam,” Ayesha said.

Though Marvel’s filmmakers have shown reluctance to work with Adam before now, reports are pointing towards writer/director James Gunn belatedly bringing him on board in Vol. 3. The aforementioned Zac Efron is said to be the top choice for the role, but Skarsgard would be a good pick as well, as Boss Logic’s art proves he’d look the part. Plus, his dad’s already part of the franchise – Stellan Skarsgard is best known as Thor’s Dr. Erik Selvig.

Don’t expect any news on who’s playing Adam Warlock anytime soon, though, as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 isn’t set to shoot until 2020. In the meantime, tell us, what do you think of Alexander Skarsgard in the role? Let us know your thoughts in the usual place below.
