‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ forces the fandom to face off the MCU’s trilogies

Which is the best Marvel film trilogy?

It’s not the DC fandom that Guardians of the Galaxy fans have to contend with. Devout supporters of the space-faring misfits are also up against the rest of the MCU fandom as they argue over which film trilogy is the best.

Reddit user u/capamericapistons asked r/MarvelStudios community members which film trilogy is considered the best in the MCU, because if there is one thing we need – it’s more infighting amongst the fandom. The Redditor pointed out that Marvel Studios released five trilogies, including Guardians of The Galaxy, and was curious to know which one they deem superior.

Commenters prepared their arguments on which film trilogy they loved the most. While there was some noticeable bias towards Guardians of the Galaxy since Vol. 3 just came out recently, a majority of fans believed that the Captain America films would be the next best thing.

It seems like the Captain America films could have won this contest if it wasn’t for Guardian‘s release. After all, the trilogy received high reviews from both fans and critics. Not to mention, it continued more of Steve Roger’s story and his friendship with Bucky in this post-World War world, all the while well as interweaving seamlessly with the rest of the Avengers movies.

The reason why Guardians of the Galaxy was able to topple Captain America was because there was character development throughout each of the installments. And as mentioned in The Dark Knight vs. Guardians debate, the former had people feeling something throughout their movie-watching experience.

Of course, Captain America will soon lose its trilogy status in 2024 once Captain America: New World Order gets released and it becomes a ‘tetralogy.’ We look forward to the undoubtedly spirited debate about four-parters in the future.
