Hailee Steinfeld Attached To Re-Telling Of Sleeping Beauty

She's already been picked for another movie, Forgotten. But the offers are still coming in. Hailee Steinfeld 's Oscar nominated debut in True Grit has been working out well for her and now the young stalwart is attached to another movie, Deadline reports. The movie in question is a fresh re-telling of the Sleeping Beauty fairytale, a spec script written by Lindsay Devlin. This will revise the story and tell it from the point of view of the princess, in which she falls into a dream world and has to escape, so a bit different than the original story where she just waits for the handsome Prince to turn up and sweep her off her feet.

She’s already been picked for another movie, Forgotten. But the offers are still coming in. Hailee Steinfeld ‘s Oscar nominated debut in True Grit has been working out well for her and now the young stalwart is attached to another movie, Deadline reports.

This premise sounds very similar to what was done in Peter Jackson’s adaptation of The Lovely Bones and more recently in Tim Burton’s rehash of Alice in Wonderland, both of which see a strong female protagonist struggling with interior forces which are manifested in fantasy worlds. Now, that’s not to say this movie will be as bad as those two movies were. In fact, sounds like an interesting prospect. The script is currently out for studios to pick up. We’ll keep you updated when we know more.
