Han Solo Set Video Teases The Iconic Space Smuggler’s New Ride

Following some new concept art and a few leaked set pics that provided us with our first look at Alden Ehrenreich in costume as the young Han Solo, the guys over at Making Star Wars have come across a video that gives us a quick glimpse of the iconic character’s “podcar,” which he’ll presumably use to get himself from A to B at some point in the currently shooting Star Wars Anthology film.

The video, seen above, was shot at the Fawley Power Station in Southeastern England and although it doesn’t really reveal anything new about the movie’s plot, an onlooker was also on-hand to provide a bit more context for the scene in question:

Finally made it out to Fawley. Nothing shaking but just spoke to a lady walking her dog…she saw some sort of battle filming plus they were filming some sort of ‘drag race’ with ‘odd looking vehicles.

From this, we can reasonably assume that Solo engages in some sort of race which doesn’t go according to plan and lands the notorious scoundrel in hot water. Specific story details are still under wraps, of course, but we do know that the film will span 6 years of Solo’s life, and in that time he’ll meet his legendary co-pilot and best pal Chewbacca and fierce rival Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover). It’s also been confirmed that he’ll acquire his iconic spaceship, the Millennium Falcon, in the film, which could well wind up being passed on to him by Woody Harrelson’s mentor character.

The Han Solo Star Wars spinoff is being directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller and is set to blast into theatres on May 25, 2018. Stay tuned over the coming weeks as more pics and videos are sure to leak out from the set.
