Casting for The Expendables 3 has been getting out of control lately. It seems that every week Sylvester Stallone is taking to Twitter to announce a new actor or actress for the film.
Already we have returning members like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Dolph Lundgren and of course, Sylvester Stallone. We also have some new additions like Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Milla Jovovich, Mel Gibson and probably Nicolas Cage. Now, Stallone has hopped on Twitter once again to let us know that Harrison Ford, who was rumored for a role, has officially signed on and that Bruce Willis is unfortunately, not returning.
I like Ford just as much as most people do but is this not getting to be a bit much already? There’s something called overkill and it looks like that’s what Stallone and the producers are going for here. I mean, is there really going to be enough room for all these huge personalities to co-exist together in one film? The Expendables and The Expendables 2 were a ton of fun and I enjoyed them very much, I just hope that they don’t ruin what they have going with the third instalment by trying to add too many big names into the mix.
The Expendables arrives on August 15th, 2014. Tell us, do you think that this cast is getting a bit too large or are you excited to see all these action stars gather together on screen for another explosive outing?
