Trolls. They’re just having a bit of harmless fun, aren’t they? There’s no damage done.
Of course, that’s not at all true, and this serious point can be flippantly emphasized by some nearly-news about Hawkeye’s absence from Avengers: Infinity War. The truth is that Jeremy Renner almost gave us a heart attack over on the ‘gram with this epic troll.
In case you’ve been living on an isolated barren moon with only Red Skull for company, Hawkeye was conspicuous by his absence from the aforementioned Infinity War. Only mentioned in passing, fan speculation has predicted an integral role for the man also known as Clint Barton in the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4 and hopes were high that the post below was the reveal that we’d been waiting for.
See for yourself, but be warned, it’s cruel!
The teaser trailer for Renner’s new movie, Tag, runs with the line: “This Summer, one hero…has been missing…until now.” But instead of firing arrows left, right and centre, we witness Renner admiring someone’s brogues.
Sure enough, we do then get to see the action star kicking some serious ass (even if it’s a man dressed as an old lady) and his Tag character does seem to share an assured sense of confidence with the Avengers’ archer. But with the hashtags “Where is Hawkeye” and “Marvel Mania,” many were hoping for more. Still, we can all take a joke, can’t we?
Rumours of Hawkeye returning to take down Thanos in Avengers 4 whilst in his popular Ronin guise are causing plenty of fan excitement and once we finally get a teaser of that…that’s when we’ll be holding onto our hearts.
