Helena Bonham Carter Being Eyed To Play The Villain In Bond 25

According to Mirror, the producers behind Bond 25 have their eye on Helena Bonham Carter for the villain role in the pic.

With the a lead actor and director both firmly in place now, temporarily calming years of will-they-won’t-they speculation and dream-team fantasizing, things are finally starting to move forward for the next James Bond movie. Just the other day, for instance, we learned that the pic will first be hitting UK cinemas on October 25th, 2019, followed two weeks later by a US release on November 8th.

Now, casting news is starting to arrive, with Mirror claiming that producers have their eye on Helena Bonham Carter for the role of the villain. Details beyond that are scarce, and obviously, this report should be taken with a grain of salt, but we can certainly see it happening. After all, the actress has shown her evil side in the past, playing Bellatrix Lestrange in four of the Harry Potter movies.

We’re also hearing that Angelina Jolie’s name is being tossed around, but again, none of this has been confirmed just yet. All we can tell you right now for sure is that Bond 25 will herald the return of Daniel Craig for his fifth outing in the role, though there was certainly a time when we didn’t think we’d see the day.

Daniel Craig as James Bond

If you’ll recall, back in 2015, the actor infamously joked that he’d rather “slash [his] wrists” than play the character again. Craig changed his tune the following year, however, taking back his previous statements and saying at the The New Yorker Festival that he’s “got the best job in the world” and that he would miss it terribly if he ever stopped.

Whatever his true stance on the issue may be, he’ll definitely be back with that license to kill for Bond 25, which is now starting to heat up. As for Helena Bonham Carter’s involvement, it definitely sounds possible and as soon as we get some kind of official confirmation from the studio, we’ll be sure to let you know.
