Though Clint Barton was notably absent from Avengers: Infinity War, we know that the MCU isn’t finished with its finest archer but instead, is just saving him for later, with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teasing big plans for Hawkeye’s future.

With that in mind, fans are expecting a pretty important arc for Jeremy Renner’s character when Avengers 4 releases next year, and the most popular prediction for where the studio will take him now is that he’ll be adopting the darker persona of Ronin. Various set photos have added fuel to this theory, too, with the actor already showing off his new hairdo and outfit that he’ll be sporting in the upcoming flick.

Not only that, but several fans have begun to put together some pretty impressive designs of what the MCU version of Ronin could look like in full costume, and the latest is the always reliable Boss Logic, who’s mocked up the two images you’ll see in the gallery down below, which looks absolutely badass.

For those unfamiliar with the character, Ronin is essentially another alias for Clint Barton, who comes into play soon after the events of Marvel’s Civil War. As mentioned above, it’s a darker persona for the hero, too, which many believe he’ll adopt after Thanos’ snap wipes out his family, leading him down a dangerous path of revenge.

Chalk that up as speculation for now, as we still don’t know a whole lot about Clint’s arc in the upcoming sequel, but what we can tell you with absolute certainty is that Avengers 4 has been slated for release on May 3rd, 2019, by which point Marvel’s Phase 3 will come to a close and in all likelihood, we’ll be waving goodbye to some of our favorite heroes for good.
