Here’s How Iron Man May Factor Into The Plot Of Avengers: Endgame

Despite only being a few months away from release, Avengers: Endgame remains a film that’s shrouded in mystery, but when you add up all the various little clues that we’ve accumulated in the last year or so, it’s clear that we won't exactly be going into the Avengers: Infinity War sequel completely oblivious of what’s to come. A new article from Screen Rant, for instance, compiles everything we know about Tony Stark’s journey in the upcoming flick, and as it turns out, the list isn’t as short as you might think.

Perhaps the most obvious development confirmed for Anthony and Joe Russo’s next film is that Tony will be trapped in space aboard the Benatar, as seen in the movie’s first trailer. The fans have already offered plenty of suggestions for who might come to Iron Man’s assistance, be it Pepper Potts, Captain Marvel or Rocket, but however Stark gets out of this jam, a recent Audi promo pretty much confirms that he’ll make it back to Earth.

What’s more, it seems inevitable that Tony will rock at least one more new suit, with various promo art suggesting that he could be wearing a red and gold outfit that hews closely to the comics, along with perhaps one one of those white ‘Quantum Realm suits’ that keep showing up in leaks.

The Screen Rant piece also takes it as borderline-fact that Iron Man will travel back in time, with various set photos making a strong case for the claim. But to go one further, it’s observed that these pics seem to show two Starks – one wearing his Black Sabbath shirt from 2012’s The Avengers, and another, older-looking version seen blending in with a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives – suggesting that the film will also revisit the slightly younger version of the character.

It certainly feels like the right time to take Iron Man’s story full circle, seeing how the expiration of Robert Downey Jr.’s contract suggests that this will likely be his final MCU outing. If so, we’ll find out if his story ends with retirement or tragedy when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
