Earlier today, filming in London brought us some juicy snaps and set videos of Spider-Man: Far From Home, which gave us our first look at Nick Fury and Maria Hill’s return in the upcoming Spidey sequel. Now, we’ve got a second clip taken from the location shoot and it might just reveal that another long-in-the-tooth MCU star is making a comeback for the movie. And it’s someone who previously showed up in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
If you check out the video shared by Reddit user @R1zzles below (if it doesn’t play, click the post title), you can just about see Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders filming a scene as the heroic former S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Due to the distance, it’s hard to make out for sure, but the figure they’re seen talking with looks a lot like Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan, the man who’s been Tony Stark’s loyal employee since 2008.
See for yourself below:
If we’re correct about this, Happy’s inclusion in the movie is an intriguing turn of events, as it’s possible he’ll play much the same role that he did in Homecoming, having been sent by Tony to keep an eye on Peter while he’s traveling around Europe. You’d think that Stark would trust Spidey enough by now, but maybe the events of Avengers: Infinity War made him a little overprotective again?
As for his business with Fury and Hill, well, we can’t say for sure, as Hogan has never previously had much dealing with the characters. Maybe the pair are keeping their own eye on what Spidey’s up to though and are secretly meeting with Hogan to get an update on Parker’s whereabouts and activities. Or, maybe they’re on the hunt for Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio?
Time will tell, but as more Spider-Man: Far From Home set videos continue to roll in, we’ll be sure to let you know.
