Adam Green’s grossly mutated swamp monster hasn’t been seen or heard of in almost a decade, leading some to ponder over the future of his cult Hatchet franchise. However, in only a few weeks’ time, Green and the folks at Dark Sky will be cordially inviting viewers back to Honey Island Swamp for another unforgettable night of bloodshed, chaos and supernatural hijinks.
Directing from his own script, Adam Green has also vowed to deliver a satisfying, backwoods thrill ride, and we’re only a few weeks’ away from discovering if his passion project is up to snuff. In 2007, forty-nine people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana’s Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew Yong’s claims that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.
