How Many Rambo Movies Are There?

High-violence action films began to take off throughout the ‘80s and one of the franchises that led this charge was Rambo. The series, based around a former Vietnam veteran John Rambo, sees him take on all kinds of foes from corrupt cops, drug cartels, and enemy soldiers.

The series began in 1982 with First Blood and most recently saw the final film enter into the franchise with 2019’s Rambo: Last Blood. Between these two films John Rambo not only aged substantially, but the threats he faced evolves as the action got more high pace and increasingly graphic.

If you’re looking for an action series to sink your teeth into the Rambo is a perfect choice. Along with the films, there are plenty of comics, novels, and games based around the character that you can check out to get your fix of Rambo.

How many Rambo movies are there?

There are a total of five films in the series which began in 1982. Here is a list of them in order so you can take in the story of John Rambo as intended.

  • Rambo: Last Blood (2019)

If you’re after more Rambo content once you’ve done with the films, there’s an animated series you can dive into called Rambo: The Force of Freedom.

With the most recent addition to the franchise titled Last Blood as a throwback to its first entry First Blood, it isn’t likely we will see another Rambo film. But with the series’ ability to stand the test of time you can never completely write the idea off.
