Hugh Jackman makes long-time Wolverine fans’ dreams come true with a first look at his ‘Deadpool 3’ costume

Now we just need to do something about Jackman's height.

Hugh Jackman has finally confirmed a fan-demanded element to his highly anticipated appearance as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. It turns out, those rumors about Wolvy sporting the classic yellow outfit were absolutely true.

Jackman shared an image of himself and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool from the upcoming film on his Instagram story with the coy caption “Don’t blink.”

Though I would’ve been perfectly happy if 2017’s Logan was the final appearance of Jackman as the character, since it arguably was the perfect send-off for him, I will admit I am beyond excited to finally see the rapid-healing mutant portrayed with comic accuracy on the big screen. Even though I wasn’t the most prolific comic reader, my headcanon version of the X-Men is mostly in line with the excellent animated ’90s show X-Men: The Animated Series, in which the character is sporting an outfit much like the one Jackman can be seen in.

Up until now, Jackman’s version of the superhero never wore a yellow suit and they even made fun of the “yellow spandex” in 2000’s X-Men, in which all of the characters wear black leather. However, the yellow suit was teased in 2013’s The Wolverine. After 2017’s Logan seemingly concluded Jackman’s run of the character without appearing in the yellow suit, it seemed like we would never see him in it. So it is a glorious day indeed for fans. If only we could somehow change Jackman’s height so that he is the more short-statured version of the character we see in the comics.

Regardless, all of this makes me very excited to see Deadpool 3 when it comes to theaters on May 3, 2024
