Hugh Jackman sets comic book lovers’ hearts ablaze with a new hairdo and a simple selfie

We're not prepared for Logan's return.

Watching Old Man Logan in the 2017 movie was as heartbreaking as it was conclusive to Hugh Jackman‘s Marvel journey, but this being superhero cinema, no one believed for a single second that he would return to the role. Now, with Deadpool 3 indeed looking to resurrect Wolverine opposite his ancient frenemy Ryan Reynolds, the actor is bringing back that iconic hairdo.

Only Jackman has the ability to dial up the hype to eleven by posting a single selfie of himself on Twitter. I mean, who needs all those multi-million marketing campaigns when you’ve got Reynolds and Jackman headlining your movie?

And the icing on top of the already mouth-watering cake? The mutton chops are back and looking sharper than ever. Literally.

While fans are busy contemplating all the potentially brilliant scenes that will come out of Reynolds and Jackman’s collaboration, or even wondering which one of the two regenerating mercs would come out on top in a fight, we shouldn’t forget the crucial fact that Deadpool 3 is bringing both characters into MCU continuity.

The implications of such a team-up will be huge, and the fact that it officially takes place in the same timeline as the Avengers is giving a lot of people cause for concern. (Not that canon and continuity are things that Wade Wilson cares about in the least. If people got angry at Marvel for She-Hulk breaking the fourth wall, imagine the sheer scrutiny the Regenerating Degenerate is going to cause.)

We still have a little under a year until Deadpool 3 makes its way to theaters, so perhaps for the time being, we should just sit back and enjoy the absurdity of Jackman and Reynolds finally sharing screentime together again after 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
