Idris Elba And Sam Worthington Join Alive Alone

Protagonist Pictures has announced today that their upcoming film Alive Alone has just signed two new cast members in the form of Idris Elba and Sam Worthington. They’ll join Noomi Rapace in the New York-set drama, which will mark the feature film debut of Khurram Longi.
Based on a script that Longi penned, which made the Black List, the film will see Elba (taking over for Matthias Schoenaerts) in the lead role, that of an “ex-detainee of Guantanamo Bay working as a taxi driver.” He eventually crosses paths with a prostitute (Rapace) who’s on the run from a ruthless crime boss (Worthington) and they “unexpectedly find salvation in one another.”
That synopsis is pretty vague but the talented cast along with the Black List script has me hopeful for this one. I also absolutely love Idris Elba. His star is rising rather rapidly right now and it’s nice to see him taking a break from the big Hollywood blockbusters to do a smaller, independent project like this.
No word yet on a start date but Protagonist is currently shopping the film in Berlin, so expect to hear more soon.
