Ike Barinholtz Teases His Role In Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad is nearly done shooting, yet we still don't know who every cast member is playing. While the core members are all accounted for, actors like Scott Eastwood, Jim Parrack (although, recent rumors point to him playing Jonny Frost) and Ike Barinholtz still have not had their roles revealed. While that's not likely to change in the near future, one cast member has come forward to tease his character, though he doesn't really give us a whole lot to go on.

Suicide Squad is nearly done shooting, yet we still don’t know who every cast member is playing. While the core members are all accounted for, actors like Scott Eastwood, Jim Parrack (although, recent rumors point to him playing Jonny Frost) and Ike Barinholtz still have not had their roles revealed. While that’s not likely to change in the near future, one cast member has come forward to tease his character, though he doesn’t really give us a whole lot to go on.

Said cast member is Ike Barinholtz, who revealed in a recent interview that the person he’s playing is a “very troubled human being.”

“I can tell you my character in that movie is someone you would not want at your house for dinner. He’s a very troubled human being,” said Barinholtz.

Again, not really much to go on, but I guess that counts him out of being one of the good guys in the film, right? Fan speculation and internet rumors have leaned heavily towards the actor playing Hugo Strange, which would make sense given Barinholtz’s description, but nothing has been officially confirmed as of yet.

The actor did go on to state that despite the serious tone of the first trailer for Suicide Squad, there will be some laughs as well, which is certainly nice to hear. I’m all for a dark and grim outing, but balancing it out with a few laughs is definitely a good idea.

“The trailer is very serious, but [director] David Ayer is a psychopath,” said the actor. “As as much as he loves the dark and exploring the disturbed side of society, it’s not like you’re telling jokes, but if you can just kind of in the moment try to play things a little honestly and react to these giant, huge superhero things that are happening, funny stuff can kind of happen and there can be laughs from it.

Will Smith is a very funny guy, Jai Courtney is actually a very funny guy, Margot Robbie is actually funny, so I think there is going to be some moments in that that actually make people laugh.”

Suicide Squad will blast into theatres on August 5th, 2016.
