‘I’m not calling Kevin Feige every day with ideas’: Elizabeth Olsen doesn’t seem to be in a rush for an MCU return

You'd bet your house on a comeback, though.

Thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s love of a fake-out death, even seeing a body isn’t enough to convince fans that somebody is really dead, but Elizabeth Olsen‘s Scarlet Witch didn’t even get that treatment in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Of course, there’s virtually no chance whatsoever we won’t be seeing Wanda Maximoff again, with everything from Agatha: Coven of Chaos to Vision Quest via Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars being wide open as potential destinations. However, the actress isn’t going to jump right into the next offer that comes her way for the sake of it.

In an interview with Variety, the Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy nominee admitted she’s at peace with taking a break from superpowered shenanigans for the time being, and she isn’t the type to be hammering on Kevin Feige’s door with storyline suggestions, either.

“I think it’s been almost 10 years of playing her. And I’ve loved it. And I think the reason why I am not calling Kevin Feige every day with ideas is because I’m really proud of what we were able to do. I think WandaVision was a really surprising opportunity. If someone were to tell me that I’m fired from Marvel movies, I will feel proud of what we made. And I really am just trying to figure out how to load up other films and characters so it becomes less about the Marvel of it all.”

She’s not going to be fired from Marvel, of that much we can be 100 percent sure, but she isn’t quite desperate to end her short-lived exile just yet. That’s fair enough, really, considering she had less than a week-long break after shooting WandaVision before diving straight into the tortured production for Multiverse of Madness.
