Two New Images From Captain America: The Winter Soldier Excite Us For The Trailer

Two new images from Captain America: The Winter Soldier have hit the web today, ahead of tomorrow's trailer premiere and following the new poster that we saw yesterday. As I said before, this is just the start of a heavy marketing campaign for the film, so get ready for a barrage of media in the coming months.

Two new images from Captain America: The Winter Soldier have hit the web today, ahead of tomorrow’s trailer premiere and following the new poster that we saw yesterday. As I said before, this is just the start of a heavy marketing campaign for the film, so get ready for a barrage of media in the coming months.

Though it’s hard to gain a whole lot from these photos, as is always the case, the one seen above shows the aftermath of what happens when you try to take down Cap in an elevator, while the one seen below has Cap and Nick Fury looking out into the distance at something, though it’s unclear what it is.

Presumably, these are both taken from the trailer that we’ll see tomorrow. In fact, I know for sure that the first one is as that particular scene leaked onto the web back in the Summer when it was shown at Comic-Con.

If you haven’t been keeping up with the ongoings of the Marvel Universe, you can check out the plot summary for Captain America: The Winter Soldier below:

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk.

Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

I mentioned on Monday that I’m not the biggest Captain America fan, and that’s true. I didn’t love the first film and thought it was one of the studio’s weaker efforts. That being said, I am curious as to how the sequel will turn out as it’s under new direction (The Russo Brothers) and, a lot has happened in the Marvel Universe since Captain America: The First Avenger released.

At the very least, I’m interested in seeing how this film will tie together the events of Marvel’s past few films and how it will act as a bridge between the previous phase two films, and the future phase two films, which are perhaps the most intriguing (Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron).

Anyways, whether you’re excited or not for the film, check out the new Captain America: The Winter Soldier images above and then head to the comments section to share your thoughts.
