It seems like we’ve been talking about Peter Jackson’s upcoming adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit for ages now, but now we’re down to just over a month to go before we finally get our chance to see if the wait has been worth it.

Today, thanks to Coming Soon and Comic Book Movie, we have some new images, including a few behind the scenes shots, as well as a new TV spot for the highly-anticipated film.

The TV spot has a smidgen of new dialogue at the beginning featuring Gandalf and Galadriel, so not much in the way of previously unseen material to be found here, but again, it doesn’t bother me that they don’t want to spoil more of the movie than they already have.

The pictures feature a variety of characters including Gandalf, Elrond, and Radagast, while the behind the scenes shots offer you an interesting glimpse of the actors filming their scenes, which includes a look at Andy Serkis back in motion-capture mode for Gollum.

As I mentioned, we’re only a little over a month away before the wait is finally over, though hopefully we’ll get some kind of indication of whether the film is as good as it looks before that. However, given Jackson’s magnificent accomplishments in the land of Middle Earth prior to this, there seems little doubt that it will be a great success.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey arrives in theaters on December 14th.
