As of the time of this writing, we’re only three weeks removed from Avengers: Endgame‘s opening weekend. And as a fan of the superhero genre, I must say I’ve never seen anticipation from moviegoers reach this level before. If anything, the hype has much to do with folks wanting to know how Joe and Anthony Russo will pick up after Infinity War‘s cliffhanger.
Come to think of it, it won’t be long before we see critics post their reviews online, but one industry insider has become the envy of True Believers everywhere by having the privilege to see the flick. As you may have figured, they walked away impressed, claiming Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ latest adventure to be “mind-blowing” – specifically when it comes to the second half.
By now, you probably heard that Endgame clocks in at a hefty 3 hours and 58 seconds, which certainly leaves a lot of room for crazy sci-fi action and developments that’ll take an emotional toll on viewers. If you’re keeping tabs, then you should remember how Infinity War enthralled everyone for around 2 hours and 40 minutes, so its successor tops it in that respect. Heck, the average movie is 90 minutes in length, so that should help put things in perspective.
To the surprise of few, the time we’re expected to remain in our seats isn’t deterring anyone. Already, the picture is tracking for a massive box office take on its opening weekend. I’m just wondering if concession stands will take a hit because nobody’s going to want to drink a gargantuan cup of soda and risk having to use the restroom. Or will they?
Regardless, once Avengers: Endgame has arrived in theaters on April 26th, be sure to keep watching this space as we’ll be bringing you all of the post-game coverage, as it were.
