By now we’ve seen a fair amount of footage from the upcoming Captain Marvel, and with each new trailer, the internet has been sent into a flurry of excitement all over again.
The preview that aired last night during the College Football Playoffs was no exception, teasing some of the more comical moments to come, while offering yet more cosmic action from the MCU’s most powerful superhero. Once again, the fans took to Twitter to share their excitement, with Brie Larson’s facial expressions – ranging from intimidating to endearingly goofy – proving of particular interest this time round:

I literally jumped and cheered for this. This is Carol in all her snarky, confident, rock-and-roll glory. "That's my girl!" I shouted. Brie Larson, Anna Boden, and Ryan Fleck have NAILED IT. Already got my tickets!! #CarolCorps #CaptainMarvel https://t.co/fUa9K0X5ZT

At this point, it’s safe to say that Marvel Studios has succeeded in getting filmgoers pumped for their next cinematic release, and for Larson’s lead turn in particular. And it’s a good thing too, since Carol Danvers looks to be in this saga for the long haul.
Just a couple of weeks ago, for instance, producer Kevin Feige teased in a behind the scenes video that Captain Marvel “is about to take the lead, and be at the forefront of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe,” and while this statement presumably refers to both Carol’s solo debut and her subsequent role in Avengers: Endgame, we can assume that the studio also has plans lined up for the character in the MCU’s Phase 4.
There’s even been some speculation that Carol will be the new leader of the Avengers, and while there’s still not a lot to go on for that idea, it certainly sounds like a few positions in the team could be opening up when Endgame hits theaters on April 26th. But first, we’ll be finding out if Carol’s solo debut can live up to the hype when Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8th.
