From Peter’s community work with Aunt May, to the assortment of new villains entering the fray, fans have found plenty to appreciate in the newly shared preview, taking to Twitter to voice their excitement:

Among the various faces old and new teased in the trailer, many fans singled out Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio as a highlight, with the popular comic book villain arriving in a cloud of green smoke to fight what appears to be Hydro-Man:

Though fans may be excited to see a showdown between Spidey and Mysterio, Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal mentioned at CCXP last month that the upcoming film will actually see the pair teaming up, as the two of them travel through Europe to fight Elementals. Still, given the comic book history of Quentin Beck, it’s a safe bet that the man will be taking a turn for the villainous sooner or later.

Of course, as of the ending of Avengers: Infinity War, Peter is in no position to fight any new foes, and as some fans observed, the very existence of this trailer is a bit of a spoiler for Avengers: Endgame:

With producers Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige both mentioning previously that Peter’s next solo outing takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, we’ll presumably see how the character is back in one piece when the Infinity War sequel hits theaters on April 26th, 2019, before Spider-Man: Far From Home comes out on July 5th.
