For a film that’s competing with movies as hyped as Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame for the attention of Marvel fans, Spider-Man: Far From Home is so far doing a pretty good job at getting filmgoers pumped, and with the first trailer finally dropping after a longer wait than most of us expected, the footage seems to be hitting the sweet spot for many a viewer.
From Peter’s community work with Aunt May, to the assortment of new villains entering the fray, fans have found plenty to appreciate in the newly shared preview, taking to Twitter to voice their excitement:

Me: I'm not THAT bothered about the Marvel movies any more.
Far From Home: Here's Mysterio, Hydro Man, Sand Man, Nick Fury and a suit that looks like Superior Spider-man

Among the various faces old and new teased in the trailer, many fans singled out Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio as a highlight, with the popular comic book villain arriving in a cloud of green smoke to fight what appears to be Hydro-Man:

Though fans may be excited to see a showdown between Spidey and Mysterio, Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal mentioned at CCXP last month that the upcoming film will actually see the pair teaming up, as the two of them travel through Europe to fight Elementals. Still, given the comic book history of Quentin Beck, it’s a safe bet that the man will be taking a turn for the villainous sooner or later.
Of course, as of the ending of Avengers: Infinity War, Peter is in no position to fight any new foes, and as some fans observed, the very existence of this trailer is a bit of a spoiler for Avengers: Endgame:

With producers Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige both mentioning previously that Peter’s next solo outing takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, we’ll presumably see how the character is back in one piece when the Infinity War sequel hits theaters on April 26th, 2019, before Spider-Man: Far From Home comes out on July 5th.
