The Internet Thinks Hugh Jackman Has An Avengers: Endgame Cameo

As much as the fans and Ryan Reynolds want to see Hugh Jackman reprise his role as Wolverine, the Logan star seems pretty content to let someone else handle the role, and with the impending Disney/Fox deal not even final yet, it could be a long wait before we see anyone wield the claws in the MCU. Nonetheless, as unlikely as it is that Jackman will be showing up in next year’s Avengers: Endgame, a simple Google algorithm mistake was all it took to give the fans hope.

To elaborate, Googling the words “famous Hugh Jackman movies” brings up a carousel of films that feature the Australian star, and at the time of writing, one such result is the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War sequel. So, what does this tell us about Jackman’s future plans? In all likelihood, absolutely nothing, but since that answer isn’t exciting enough, some fans apparently suspect that Marvel Studios has been sharing MCU spoilers with Google for some reason, and that Google has in turn chosen to subtly leak this info to the public.

Since the Endgame search result started making the rounds, fans have been taking to Twitter to express their excitement about Hugh Jackman’s triumphant return to superhero cinema. And while some of these commenters are probably just kidding, others seem genuinely hopeful that this find could be legit, and it must be said that their optimism is both inspiring and a little heartbreaking:

This isn’t the first time this month that the Google algorithm has got its superhero movies mixed up. There was a period recently, for instance, when searching “Aquaman cast” would bring up Infinity War and Deadpool 2 star Josh Brolin as the first listing. The actor himself even caught wind of this error and was all too happy to take credit for the box office success of the new DCEU flick.

That being said, Brolin will probably be connected to an even greater commercial success next year, with Avengers: Endgame set to hit theaters on April 26th, 2019. Just don’t expect Thanos to cross paths with Wolverine anytime soon.
