Iron Man’s In Trouble In New Avengers: Infinity War Photo

Listen, someone (or, very likely, more than one person), is going to die in Avengers: Infinity War. And we don't just mean innocent bystanders who get caught in the crossfire of the battle between Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Thanos, who's all set to be the biggest, most dangerous threat they've ever faced. No, we mean one of the main characters. That much we're certain of. What we don't know, however, is who it'll be.

We have our suspicions, of course, and one of them is the man who started it all: Tony Stark. It’s no secret that Robert Downey Jr.’s time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is almost up and whether it’s in Infinity War or Avengers 4, the actor is going to be making his exit quite soon. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll die – he could just be written out of the franchise – but we don’t imagine that Mr. Stark will still be here come Phase 4.

And so, with that in mind, we present to you a new photo from Joe and Anthony Russo’s upcoming blockbuster, courtesy of USA Today. It can be seen in the gallery down below and if it looks familiar, it should, as it’s pulled straight from the film’s first trailer. Which is to say that there’s nothing really new here, but it does serve as another reminder that Iron Man – and his fellow Avengers – are in for a bit of trouble thanks to Thanos, as they look out at what’s presumably the destruction that the Mad Titan’s left in his wake.

While fans will no doubt appreciate getting an official still from the film, it’s hard not to feel a bit disappointed that between this photo and the one released earlier this week, we got absolutely nothing new. Both pics were taken from the recent trailer and with only four months to go now before Infinity War blasts into theaters, we think we speak for everyone when we say it’d be nice to see a bit more from it.

Presumably, Marvel’s waiting until Black Panther is out of the way to really begin the marketing blitz, but we’re still hopeful that we’ll get something early in the new year. After all, ESPN (owned by Disney) is airing the college football National Championship game on January 8th and some fans think that the studio may use the event to showcase the next Avengers: Infinity War trailer. Chalk that up as speculation for now, but one way or another, we don’t imagine it’ll be too much longer before we get another peak at what’s undoubtedly 2018’s biggest release.
