According to Bill Skarsgård himself, the Pennywise of It: Chapter Two will be baying for blood, as he enacts his revenge on the Losers' Club.

Forget Pennywise the Dancing Clown, in this year’s It: Chapter Two, Stephen King’s abomination will be more bloodthirsty and vengeful following his 27-year hiatus.

The sewer-dwelling creature was last seen retreating into the shadows of Derry, overcome by a strange, crippling emotion – fear. Pennywise is no strange to paralyzing his prey with sheer, unrelenting terror, but two years ago the Losers’ Club were able to get one over on the killer clown and instill a sense of fear deep within his broken soul. And it worked like a charm.

There is just one problem: Pennywise has returned baying for blood, as today’s spine-chilling trailer attests, and Bill Skarsgård perfectly captured the villain’s mindset during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

He’s been doing this forever really, so he doesn’t change in the sense that you would look differently. He looks however he wants to look for any particular prey at the time, but I do think there’s a change. His last line — ‘Fear…’ — is him experiencing it for the first time, and he’s sort of shocked and perplexed and surprised. Like, what is this?

So while we fully expect Pennywise to toy with his victims come September, there’s a very good chance the King’s otherworldly demon will be much more ruthless when enacting his revenge. How, exactly, the Losers will defeat this rejuvenated Pennywise is up for debate, but one thing’s immediately clear: Derry’s fabled clown now holds a personal vendetta against Beverly Marsh and her friends.

Via EW, here’s what Skarsgård had to share:

It fuels hatred and anger towards the kids, who will be adults in this one, so I think there might be an even more vicious Pennywise. He’s really going after it.

It seems the Losers Club have nothing to fear but fear itself. Look for New Line’s horror showdown to commence when It: Chapter Two slithers into theaters on September 6th.
