‘It would be an honor to play Sue Storm’: ‘Fantastic Four’ front-runner makes her sales pitch to Kevin Feige

Does she know something we don't?

Depending on who you choose to believe, there are any number of reasons why Marvel Studios has yet to announce the cast of its long-awaited Fantastic Four reboot.

At various points, the rumor mill has offered that the ensemble has been in place for a while but Kevin Feige is holding up the official announcement, while other theories offer that the writers’ strike (and potential impending action from actors) is holding things up, without mentioning the requisite financial issues preventing the chosen candidates from signing on the dotted line.

Throughout it all, though, Hobbs & Shaw and Mission: Impossible ass-kicker Vanessa Kirby has remained one of the front-runners to land the role of Sue Storm, and she’s very keen on the idea. In an interview with Variety at the premiere of Dead Reckoning – Part One, she couldn’t have made herself any clearer once again.

“It would be an honor to play Sue Storm. She’s amazing.”

For those who’ve been keeping count, that’s the second time in as many months that Kirby has quite literally said it would be “an honor” to suit up and join the biggest franchise on the planet as the Invisible Woman, so either she knows something we don’t, or she’s giving Marvel the hard sales pitch.

She’d definitely knock it out of the park, but with Fantastic Four being delayed again as part of the Multiverse Saga’s latest wide-ranging reshuffles, it could be a while before we find out whether or not she got the nod.
